The Castillo House has just been opened, and is part of our new category of outlying homes for SBCC students. This wonderful
1930's home for boys is located in the 1700 block of Castillo. It is a 14 block walk or bike ride to the campus or a 2 block
walk to the bus stop for a bus ride to school.
The bus ride to campus would be a 2 block walk to Islay at De La Vina to catch line 3, which runs every 20 minutes at
00-20-40-00 on the hour. Once at the bus center ( 6 blocks away ), there are 4 difference buslines running up to SBCC, easily
a bus every 8-10 minutes. A student ID is a free bus pass for the semester, btw.
The return trip is even easier, by getting any bus down to the main bus terminal and then catching either line 12x or
24x, the expresses to Goleta and UCSB. The last stop while still in Santa Barbara, just before they get on the freeway, is
the stop at Arrellaga and Castillo, 1 block from the Castillo home.
The 3 bedroom home, one bath is arranged for 3 shared rooms for 2 boys each. All the services of bi-weekly housekeeping,
all bills, internet, cable and furniture are included, as per our basic program.
The Castillo house boasts a nice private front yard and good street parking, more than usual even, as the other side
of the street is creek frontage, so most of the block is housed on just one side.
