You can send your Rental Agreement via email, fax or regular mail. The easiest and fastest ways are email and fax.

Important! If you send it using regular mail, please let us know on the day you send it and we will hold your spot for a couple of days for your mail to reach us.

Can I stay for just a month or so?

NO, our student dorm style housing are leases for full school years. These are for the full months of August through May each year, making our lease terms exactly condusive to SBCC. No partial months or partial semesters are offered.

 What are my payment options?

Domestic Students: We offer you two options; annual or monthly payment.

International Students: Annual payment

Can I come see the houses?

During a short period of time, in July, we may be able to let you in to see the homes. However, entry to the houses during the school year, August through May is not possible, as they are occupied. Feel free to drive by and see the properties but it is not ok to knock on the door during the school year. Our tenants must not be disturbed during their tenancy.

What is this Summer Reserve fee?

We are using regular residential houses, close to campus, for your housing. These homes have year- round mortgages just like anywhere else. Your application fee helps maintain the house over the summer, and is the only way to ensure the home will be available for you in the Fall.

Can I have a friend from home flop in my room for a weekend?

Unfortunately, no. Each house is full enough just with the students who are paying to live there. Any more occupants than that and the conditions deteriorate quickly for everyone. There is a Holiday Inn not far from several of our houses, and all are within walking distance to the local youth Hostel at the train station. There is a $100 a night provisional charge for each night you allow a non-tenant to stay in a ACTIVE Student Housing dorm. Its not worth it.

What Should I Bring?

We have a required item we need our students to bring. All ACTIVE student housing residents should come with a mattress pad cover,  with sufficient specifications to protect your student from mattress allergens, and to also be liquid barrier to shield the mattress in return. We also very much recommend (not required however) a mattress warmer, much like an electric blanket except it is under the sheet. Space heaters are strictly not allowed in ACTIVE SH dorms and these pads are approved by us. They can safely keep you or your student warm throughout the night, even if the house heater is not spreading evenly through all the bedrooms at times. The warmer is a great dorm present, and your son or daughter will come to treasure it! Any brand is acceptable, but must have a shut off feature built in, generally 10 hours.
